Comments Off on Fast and Easy Pizza Burgers with Ragú

This week I’m working with Ragú to bring you a slightly different version of one of their traditional recipes. Last week I shared my own spin on their Fettuccine Carbonara and today is their Easy Awesome Meat Sauce for my own New Tra-Dish.

Did anyone else have pizza burgers growing up? My mom would make them every now and then and I remember the lunch ladies making some pretty darn good ones too. We have these about once every month or two in our house. It’s one of those recipes I turn to when I have leftover (or stale) buns in the house and less than 30 minutes to make dinner.
When Ragú asked me to put a twist on one of their traditional recipes, my mind went immediately to the pizza burger. I used their Ragú Old World Style Traditional Sauce which is made with 11 juicy tomatoes, making it its richest, thickest recipe.

This week and next I’m working with Ragú to bring you a slightly different version of two of their traditional recipes. I decided to put my own spin on their Fettuccine Carbonara and their Easy Awesome Meat Sauce (that recipe will be shared next week) for my own New Tra-Dish.

We eat A LOT of pasta in our house. And even though I love the taste of a good homemade sauce over steaming hot spaghetti, I rarely take the time to make it. That’s where Ragú comes in handy. Let’s face it, jar sauces are convenient. Just open jar, pour in pan, heat up, and you are ready to go in 5 minutes. You should try one of the great tasting Ragú® white sauces, such as Ragú® Classic Alfredo, if you’re in the mood for something delicious. It’s as good as homemade only faster!

Is it just me or what?
But since when did “Puppy Chow” or in other parts of the United States “Muddy Buddies” become such a hot ticket item to make? I haven’t been living under a rock. I have been spending an awful lot of time indoors lately so maybe the lack of fresh air is getting to me.
I came across these “Sweetheart Buddies” over at The Recipe Critic and loved them. Then I looked around and saw that almost everyone was making some sort of version of it.
So what do I do? I jump on that bandwagon because I don’t want to be left out.

I can normally pass up chips on a buffet table spread but if you have a dip next to those chips, oh boy, this girl is all over it. Same goes for veggies and fruit. If there is a dip next to them, they just seem more appealing. Why is that?
Why do breadsticks taste better with marinara sauce?
Or French fries with ketchup?
Or broccoli with ranch dressing?
Or tortilla chips with salsa?
