Coloring Easter Eggs used to be a big ordeal when I was a kid. My mom would get out the Paas coloring kits and we’d watch the tablets fizz in the vinegar and water. It was great but we only had 4 colors to choose from. Can I hear an “Awww, poor thing”?
That doesn’t happen in our house anymore. Nope – my kids have it grand. We all want a better life for our kids than what we had and this is the way I’m giving it to my children – through colored Easter Eggs. We just get out my gel paste colors that I use for coloring icing and they could have up to 18 colors if I’d let them. Yes – 18. I know. They are spoiled!

I knew that posting this photo yesterday of the cute little boy and the little piggy would make a few of you wonder if I was serving up a bacon recipe today.
Even I am not that cruel. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE bacon. But I do have a heart and that little piggy is too cute to be a segue to a meal.
That adorable photo was taken by Kristina Olson of Kristina Olson Photography – one of my sponsors and the person behind the lense of my photo over on the right side of my blog. She does AMAZING work. Just look at some of these photos.

Does Carrot Pound Cake sound appetizing to you? Me neither.
But wait! How about pound cake dipped in chocolate to LOOK like carrots? Does that sound better? Thank goodness – it does to me too.
You don’t have to worry about finding hidden vegetables in my sweet recipes. I leave that to my mother-in-law. She puts zucchini in almost everything! You never know what you’re going to get there. Most of it tastes pretty good but you don’t dare tell the kids or the men there are vegetables hidden in their sweet food – they won’t trust you for weeks after that.

Oh what a weekend! It was productive. It was fun. It was warm.
- Cleaned out the garage.
- Took the recyclables to the dump.
- FINALLY took down the house winter decorations and put up spring décor.
- 5 loads of laundry hung on the line, folded AND put away. Love the smell of fresh hung out clothes!
It feels good to be productive.
