Frankenstein Pudding Cups

This is a kid friendly Halloween treat idea.

So much in fact, my 8 year-old wouldn’t let me help.  Darn kid took all of the fun out of it for me.  Not really.  But she could have.

Crush up your Oreos first.  If you don’t have a food processor, put them in a plastic bag and use a rolling pin to crush them into fine pieces.

Next, decorate your cup like a Frankenstein or monster face with a black Sharpie.

And the SpiceStack Giveaway Winner is…

Congratulations to Susan, the winner of the Chef’s Edition SpiceStack from YouCopia!  You will LOVE it!

Thank you everyone who entered.  I just love knowing that my cupboards are not the only ones in desperate need of organizing.  For those of you who need help in the spice area, think about ordering one (or more) of the SpiceStacks.  It really has been helpful and even better than that; I don’t feel scared to open that door anymore and wonder which bottle is going to fall out.

So with one shelf done in my kitchen and many, many more to go, I can’t decide which one to tackle next, the pantry, the bake ware, the baking shelf, the decorating shelf, etc., etc., etc.  Stay tuned, there may just be another organizational giveaway in the future!

Jack-o-lanterns, Ghosts and Mummy Pretzels and a Conundrum in our House

So these cute Halloween themed pretzels are very easy to do.  For the basic directions on how to make these pretzels, check out my post on the ladybug, duck, bunny and PacMan pretzels I’ve made before.

But today I have something MUCH more important to talk about than pretzels.

It’s the Case of the Missing Pillow Case.

Seriously, I need to get Nate the Great or Castle in on this one.  We have a missing pillow case and it’s driving me nuts!

It all started earlier this week when I went to wash ALL of the bedding.

I had the kids bring ALL of their bedding to the mud room so I could wash it.

I threw it all into the washer and then into the dryer.

Homemade All Purpose Seasoning and a SpiceStack Giveaway

Oh boy, oh boy!

I have a giveaway for you today.  I’m so excited because it FORCED me to clean out one of my cupboards, get it organized and I want to help you do that too.

Now I’m going to share some information with you today that I’m not real proud of.

Powerful Message about Bullying

There is no recipe attached to this post.  Just a powerful message that Jennifer Livingston, from WKBT’s News 8 This Morning delivered on their morning news cast this morning.

I’ve known Jennifer for over 4 years now from my monthly TV segment that I am so fortunate to do with her and Bill on their show.  Throughout these 4 years I can say that Jennifer has become my friend.  She is the type of person I could easily go to lunch with and talk for hours about “stuff”.  She is sweet, kind, smart, funny, and talented.  She is beautiful on the inside and out.

I’ve been trying all day to find the right words to put down here that would explain what I’m feeling.  As a person who struggles with my weight too, I know how hurtful those words can be.

My mind has a hard time figuring out people who use their spoken or written words to purposely hurt people.  We are all guilty of it at some point in our life.  I’m guilty of it as well and am not proud of it.

Jennifer, being the class act that she is, speaks the words that so many that are being bullied needed to hear.  No matter what our size, our color, our disability, etc., we all have feelings.

If you haven’t seen it yet, please take 5 minutes to watch it.  It’s a powerful message.
