I know you are as ready for spring as I am.
The colder than cold temperatures this winter have chilled my family to the bone. We’ve drank more hot chocolate this past winter than the past 10 combined.
I love snow but I’m ready for it to be gone.
After getting stuck in the driveway for the second time this year, I’m ready for my husband to stop rolling his eyes at me and shaking his head. I, the idiot, was in a hurry both times and just wasn’t paying attention to what I was backing into. Obviously those snow banks jumped out at me, but he seems to think differently.
So to encourage warmer temperatures to come visit, I wanted to make something that yelled “spring” for my TV segment on WKBT News 8 This Morning tomorrow morning (Monday, March 10 – tune in if you can). Bright colors that remind me of spring flowers popping their heads out of the ground put a smile on my face.
I saw this idea on Facebook. Fifty Shades of Cake shared Jen’s Just Desserts idea of fancying up your Oreos. For some reason the bright colors just jumped at me and said “Spring will come soon. I promise.”
Making these are not hard. Just pipe in some frosting around your Oreo. Roll into non-pariels or sanding sugar. Repeat. Let set about 30 minutes until the frosting sets before moving too much.
Now one may think the Oreo is perfect just the way it is and I wouldn’t disagree with you one bit. But let’s face it, the bright colors make the Oreo just a little bit prettier, a little bit fancier, and hopefully bring spring a little bit sooner.

I like it! The only thing better than Oreos … is fancy Oreos!
Maybe I should have called them grown up Oreos! 🙂
