Spicy Fettuccine Carbonara with Ragú
This week and next I’m working with Ragú to bring you a slightly different version of two of their traditional recipes. I decided to put my own spin on their Fettuccine Carbonara and their Easy Awesome Meat Sauce (that recipe will be shared next week) for my own New Tra-Dish.
We eat A LOT of pasta in our house. And even though I love the taste of a good homemade sauce over steaming hot spaghetti, I rarely take the time to make it. That’s where Ragú comes in handy. Let’s face it, jar sauces are convenient. Just open jar, pour in pan, heat up, and you are ready to go in 5 minutes. You should try one of the great tasting Ragú® white sauces, such as Ragú® Classic Alfredo, if you’re in the mood for something delicious. It’s as good as homemade only faster!
I make fettuccine carbonara every now and then so this time around I decided to “spice” things up a bit, change the veggies, and omit the meat. I would highly recommend adding spicy chicken to this version of the recipe if you have it on hand.
While the fettuccine was cooking, I stirred in a packet of taco seasoning into my Ragú Classic Alfredo sauce while it was heating up for an instant change of taste.
To keep the “spicy” theme going I cut up some red and green bell peppers, opened a can of sliced olives, and had chopped cilantro waiting to finalize my dish while the items on the stove were completing their process.
Once everything was ready, I just spooned the spicy Alfredo sauce over the fettuccine, added the peppers and olives, and topped with cilantro.
Can you say “delizioso”?!!!
