What were you doing on a Sunday afternoon when you were 7 years old? I bet you weren’t looking for Justin Bieber cakes online.
Here’s the scenario – I’m reading the Sunday paper and I thought my 7 year old was playing one of her games on the laptop. But then she started this conversation with me.
Her – “Mom, I changed my mind, I want this Justin Bieber cake for my birthday.” Keep in mind, her birthday is still 4 months away and she’s changed her mind on the type of birthday cake she wants at least 5 times already. She starts thinking about her next cake even before her current cake is gone.
Me – “Where did you see a picture of one?” Half paying attention to what she’s saying because I have important information to read. For instance – the process of getting a mug shot taken if you happen to get arrested in La Crosse, WI and what’s on sale at Michaels this week. You know – important stuff.
Her – “Right here online!”
Me – “How did you find it?”
Her – “I just typed in Justin Bieber Cakes and this is what came up. Come take a look at the one I want.”
So I stopped my all important reading to see her top 5 Justin Bieber cake choices and realized she knows how to search for information online already. She typed into Bing “Justin Bieber Cakes” and up came the results. It was at this point that I realized my baby is smarter on the computer than I thought.
I can take this new found information and use it one of two ways – either I ban her from the computer for life so that she stays my baby forever OR I can assign her the job of researching ideas for me when it comes to recipes and sweet treat ideas. What do you think?
Now onto the real reason you came to visit me today. Deviled Eggs! I love them and so does the hubby so every time he needs to take something to work for a pot luck meal, he requests deviled eggs.
Last week I posted How to Make Hard Boiled Eggs and I got an email from my neighbor who just happens to be an EGGspert (expert) on eggs. Really – he’s an EGGspert and he fills his emails with these special (i.e.corny) spellings. But I don’t hold that against him. BEEcause as he himself put it, he can BEE an EGG head. Humor like this always puts a smile on my face. So maybe I’m kind of special (corny) too.
He had a few additions to my post that I wanted to share with you.
Thank you Farmer Bee for the information.
Now enjoy some deviled eggs!

Deviled eggs are not hard to make and can be presented in many different ways. If you want to get extra fancy, use a 1M cake decorating tip to pipe the yolk mixture into the whites. Garnish with extra seasoning salt and parsley.

• 1/3 cup Miracle Whip
• 1 1/2 tablespoon mustard
• 1/2 teaspoon pepper
• 1/4 teaspoon seasoning salt
• Seasoning saltDirections:
1. Cut hard boiled eggs in half, lengthwise.
2. Remove yolks and put into a bowl.
3. Mash up yolks with a fork until crumbly.
4. Add Miracle Whip, mustard, pepper and salt to yolks and mix well.
5. Put yolk mixture into a disposable bag, snip off the end for easy piping.
6. Pipe yolk mixture into empty eggs whites until the hole of white if full.
7. Add a little bit more seasoning salt to the tops of the eggs for a little extra taste and color.Place on a serving platter or into an airtight container. These taste best if served immediately or within 24 hours so they can be made up the night before you need to take them somewhere.
