Jazzed Up Hot Chocolate

A plain ole cup of hot chocolate can hit the spot. It works.  It’s functional.  It serves the purpose.   But, what if, that plain ole cup of hot chocolate had a makeover?

We’ve all seen those makeover shows with the before and after photos.  The before shots were taken in horrible lighting with the oldest, worst pair of mom jeans on they could find.  There is no makeup and you really wonder if they even had a chance to comb their hair that day.  Those poor ladies, I’ve seen better mug shots before.

And then, the pros work their magic and with a little bit of effort, Wowzza, Wowzza, Wowzza!  Out comes a totally different person and you wonder why they didn’t get a makeover sooner.

Maybe your hot chocolate needs a makeover too.  Just like the ladies getting makeovers, it’s the same hot chocolate, only jazzed up.  Oh sure, every now and then you’ll throw in some marshmallows but don’t you think it would be so much better with some chocolate chips for a richer, more chocolaty taste? (= new wardrobe)  A shot of Baileys – for the over 21 crowd of course – adds that extra zing it needs. (= new haircut and color)  Add some whip cream to make it pretty. (=correct makeup colors applied properly)   And who doesn’t love a few sprinkles for a finishing touch? (= Can you say accessories?)

Now this is a cup of hot chocolate that will make you go Wowzza, Wowzza, Wowzza.  It takes a little effort but it certainly will turn some heads.

What would you jazz up your hot chocolate with?

I did a chocolate and sprinkled covered marshmallow on a candy cane stick with hot cocoa for the kids and they were giddy over them. Giddy. They said it was the best dessert ever. Ever? Sometimes the simple things are really the best. (it was pretty good)

Like your writing here – the comparison with the makeover is very clever. Mom jeans? Ugh. I’m sure that’s what they call my jeans. No stretch band…yet, though. And yes, Bailey’s. Please bring me Bailey’s. And that reminds me – I should probably get my hair colored again.

My favorite hot chocolate add-in is Rumplemintz Peppermint Schnapps – nothing better on a chilly ski slope!
