Friday Find – Pinterest
Have you heard of Pinterest yet? If not, don’t be afraid. It’s something that’s just starting to get popular and so now you too will be in the know. I’d hate for any of my readers to be behind the curve ball. Often times, that’s where I am but not this time. This time around, I’m actually ahead in this ball game.
Pinterest is an online bulletin board. It lets you organize and share all of the cool stuff you find on the web. You can create a bulletin board for anything that interests you and you can have as many as you like. If you want one for home decorating ideas, have one. If you want one for good recipes you’ve found, have one. If you want one for hunting equipment you NEED to have, have one. And, not only can you have your own bulletin boards but you can look at everyone else’s too so you can see what others are interested in. To see all of my boards, click here.
Before Pinterest, if I would see a recipe I wanted to try; I would create a document on my computer, copy the photo and paste it into this document along with the recipe URL. But that is exactly what Pinterest is doing for me now. If I see something online I want to try or save, I just Pin It.
The directions on getting started are very easy to follow. I will warn you though; it can be highly addictive especially when you start looking at other people’s boards. There is some wild and crazy and creative and neat stuff out there.
To make it easy on you, I added a Pin It button to the bottom of each post now. So if you see a recipe you want to try out, just Pin It to your bulletin board. It will put the recipe on the board of your choice and when you are ready to try it, just click on the photo and it will bring you back to the recipe on my blog. See how easy it is!
I included a few screen shots of my Valentine’s Day Treats bulletin board. See anything you may want to try?
For those of you who follow my blog on a daily basis. Starting next week, I’ll be posting 2 – 4 times a week instead of all 5 days. Each week will be different. I don’t want it to get boring for you. If you want to receive every blog post in your email inbox, sign up for the email service in the right hand column. It’s really easy to do and this way you won’t miss a beat.
